Prints vs Lithos

As an actor, you have a choice in printing your headshots between Argentum photographic reproductions and lithographic prints. Initially, they both appear to do the same thing. But there's a difference.

Photographic prints are originals. Lithos are second generation, which means quality loss and unpredictable color shifts.

When you print photographs, we're able to print a test so you know excatly what your reproductions will look like. Lithos do not offer a test print; we have no way of knowing exactly what they will look like.

Photographs are printed on state of the art photographic paper and equipment. This means consistency even on reorders. Lithos are printed on cardstock through a screen which causes your headshots to appear dull. It's like the difference between a dot matrix and a laser printer. If you put a loupe to a litho, you can see the tiny dots. Photos are a continuous tone. Very cool.

It's a common myth that lithos are cheaper than photos. We have priced our highest quality photo reproductions lower than most lithos and we frequently run specials that reduce our prices even more! Why? Because we want you to be an Argentum client for life. If you compare price and quality, you will find that Argentum reproductions are the best value for your money in the headshot business.
