What is Argan Oil?

Argan Oil is made from the kernels of the Moroccan argan tree. Rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, it hydrates, protects and soothes skin.

In its pure, cold-pressed form, Argan Oil is nutrient dense and incredibly restorative for skin and has been used traditionally for centuries to soften, heal and protect the skin from harsh conditions.

Five benefits of Argan Oil for the skin

Moisturising

Argan Oil is a rich emollient that softens and smooths skin by helping it retain hydration. And, as a non-comedogenic oil, it won’t block pores.

Anti-ageing

The antioxidants and fatty acids in Argan Oil support skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines, helping skin stay plump and resilient.

Rich in Fatty Acids

High levels of oleic and linoleic acid, (fatty acids), nourish the skin barrier, helping to strengthen and protect against environmental damage.

Soothing

Argan Oil calms red, irritated or reactive skin and is gentle enough for those prone to conditions like rosacea.

Restorative

Over time, it helps repair signs of stress or damage - supporting a more even, revitalised and luminous complexion.

How to include Argan Oil in your skincare routine

Argan Oil works best when used as part of a consistent, well-balanced skincare routine. It’s especially effective in leave-on products like facial oils or creams, but can also be helpful in gentle cleansers.

Start with a nourishing cleanse.
A balm or oil cleanser with added Argan Oil, like our oil-to-milk cleanser, removes impurities while nourishing and replenishing skin.

Layer lightweight serums first.
Apply a hydrating or brightening serum first, allowing it to absorb fully before applying your Argan Oil.

Use 2–3 drops of your natural face oil with Argan.
Gently pat into skin as the final step of your evening routine, or blend with moisturiser to enhance nourishment and glow.

Let it support repair.
Regular use can help reduce the appearance of dry patches, support skin healing and improve overall tone and softness.

How does Argan Oil work on the skin?

Argan Oil delivers moisture and nourishment.

The high Vitamin E content acts as an antioxidant, neutralises free radicals and prevents oxidative stress, both of which can cause fine lines, an uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation.

Meanwhile, the fatty acids reinforce the skin barrier and retain hydration to keep skin plump and soothe any inflammation, redness or sensitivity.

With consistent use, Argan Oil skincare can improve texture, reduce visible damage, and enhance skin’s natural glow.

This is the most beautiful face oil. My skin is loving it. I have tried so many but this is just fabulous. No breakouts, just great skin. Gorgeous!

How to layer Argan Oil ~ which ingredients to use and which to avoid

While Argan Oil is generally well tolerated alongside other ingredients, knowing how to pair it with other ingredients will help keep skin bright, moisturised and protected.

Pairs well with:

Non-comodegenic oils
Kukui Nut Oil
and Abyssinian Oil are both non-comodegenic (won’t clog pores) – find them alongside Argan Oil in our non-comedogenic face oil.

Vitamin C
Brightens skin and adds antioxidant support alongside Argan Oil.

Retinol
Argan Oil can help reduce the irritation sometimes caused by retinoids.

Use with caution:

Benzoyl Peroxide
Can be overly drying and may counteract Argan Oil’s moisturising effects.

AHAs/BHAs
Layering oil immediately after strong acids may cause stinging or disrupt skin barrier recovery, and may cause irritation when paired with rich oils, especially on sensitive skin.
